Product Trashcan | June Empties

Product empties are still one of my favourite posts! There is something so soothing about seeing how many products I’ve managed to go through during the month. Mainly because I like seeing the amount of free space I’ve gained so that I can fill it with new products! On a slightly serious note, can you believe that June has already ended! We are half way through 2017, I’m not ready for this. The year has just continued to fly past at such a rapid pace that I hardly know where it has gone.

Product Trashcan | June Empties

Somehow as each month goes by, I manage to use up a collection of products that are not the ones I intend to finish. How does that even happen? This month I’ve got plans to only use products that are nearly empty, in an attempt to finally finish some of them! Who knows how well those intentions will play out, I’ve had these best intentions for the past 3 months now!

Over the next couple of empties posts I’ll be doing something a little bit different. My mum has been using some of the products I’ve been testing out, and has been having different experiences! Given we have completely different skin problems, I thought it would be interesting to include her experiences on the products as well. With this empties post I’ll also be including a few of her empties too! I thought it would be interesting to explore the results of two different skin types at the same time, what do you all think? Okay, now for the details!

Hair Products

Product Trashcan | June Empties

1. Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment

I only just realised that this was in my last month’s post as well! I don’t know how on earth I’ve managed to grow through another one in an entire month. Normally it last’s me a little bit longer than that, but then that was when my hair was short. It’s definitely no were near as short as what it used to be. From those who have seen my previous posts before you’ll know that I’m completely obsessed with the brand and their entire range! This is one product that I will continue to repurchase again and again because I truly believe it’s results are amazing!

2. Original Mineral Know Knott

Otherwise known as liquid gold! At first I thought it was going to run out really quickly, as I used it on myself and my little one. When it comes to hair products, if it can tame a toddlers unruly mop that normally has food stuck to it…then it’s a serious winner. Let’s just say that this gorgeous peach smelling detangling spray could do it all! I haven’t quite gotten around to repurchasing and the difference when I brush my little one’s hair, in particular, is incredibly obvious! This is something I will be repurchasing as soon as possible.

3. The Handmade Soap Hand Lotion – Lemongrass & Cedarwood (Mum)

Mum got this soap in Ireland when she was home last. It’s actually made in a place not far from our home town. This brings a whole new meaning to the term liquid gold! It’s honestly amazing stuff! It leaves your skin feeling so incredibly soft and smooth, while smelling absolutely phenomenal! If this was easier to get over in Australia she would purchase this in the bucket load! If anyone happens to know how to get these in Australia, that would be greatly appreciated!

4. White Glo Bright Nights

I spoke about this product in my review of the brand, you can find out more about that here. Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy this product too much so I won’t be repurchasing.

5. Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer

This is something I’m throwing out rather than having finished. I’ve had this product for years! It’s the only self-applied fake tan product that I’ve ever used. Yes, I know. I’m terribly behind with the times! There are so many different varieties and brands out there now that offer fake tanning. This particular one I love because I know how it works, it’s a very gradual and slow building tan. Which is great when you have incredibly white Irish skin like mine, which can also look terrible if it goes too tan. So this is one of the reasons why I love this product! It starts off really light and you keep applying it each day until you reach a level that you are comfortable with. If I happen to find this particular product again I will definitely be repurchasing!

6.Ego QV Bath Oil

This isn’t a brand I use for myself, but one I use for my daughter. She was about a year old when she suddenly started reacting badly to Johnson’s. I was advised to change her products to something that was for sensitive skin, so I chose the QV range. Ever since I made the switch her skin has been in great condition! The break outs have been minimal at that. The only down side is the lack of bubbles! Which doesn’t make her very happy haha. I’ll continue to repurchase this unless something else comes up.

7. Carmex

A product that I think can speak for itself! My mum is such a huge lover of this. It’s something that I almost feel I grew up, that’s how long it’s been around me. In winter or when my lips are really dry this is definitely a go to product, thankfully there is never any shortage. It’s super hydrating and manages to heal my lips in record time! Given I’ve currently lost my papaya balm (yes I’m devastated, it was either the cats or the child that has hidden it.) I’ve moved back to Carmex permanently at the moment. The weather is bitter and this is the only thing that can stick it out.

8. Rohr Remedy Boab and Rosehip with Vitamin E Oil (Mum)

This was my mum’s first time trying anything like this! At Christmas I made her up a skincare box filled with little bits and pieces and this was one of those bits. I’ve tried Rohr before with their natural roll on deodorant, so I was interested to see how she would find it. In short, she loved it! Her skin felt amazingly soft and silky. However, the only negative thing she found was the dropper. This oil is both a body and face oil, so the dropper is practical for the face, but not so much for applying on the body. She’ll repurchase similar oil because she really liked it. But the dropper was a big issue for something that was also meant to double as body oil.

9. Marula Foaming Cleansing Oil

This was one of the first cleansing oils I’ve ever tried, I have had this for a far while now. That’s the one thing I have loved about this product, you really only need the smallest amount for it to cover your entire face. By itself I found this product to be really drying for my skin. Particularly are my nose area which is problematic oily area for me, which could be why. Continued use as a second cleanser combined with lots of hydrating products in the routine afterwards, really improved the effects of this oil for me. However I won’t be repurchasing this at this time.

10. Martina Organics Oil Cleanser

This was literally the first oil cleanser I ever tried. Prior to this the concept of using oil on my face when I have oily skin was completely foreign. That was until I started using this Oil Cleanser and my eyes suddenly opened to a whole new world! This smells amazing, it’s natural and so gentle on the skin! Although I have more cleansers than I know what to do with, I always like to have a supply of this oil on hand. It’s just one of those products that makes my skin feel good. Already repurchased.

11. Sea2Skin Active Hydration Mask

I really loved the concept of this mask! It’s a wet mask that comes in a resealable package so you can easily seal it back up and use again. This maintains the freshness and keeps it all nice and ready to use again. Unfortunately I didn’t actually enjoy this mask. It didn’t feel nice on my skin and it smelt rather funny. It could have been just me or I could have just kept it too long before using. Won’t be repurchasing.

12. Kracie Hadabisei Moisturizing Face Mask (Extra Rich)

This fit me like a glove! Literally like an absolute glove! The mask itself felt so amazing! It felt so soft on my skin and the effects left my skin feeling smooth and plump! I actually forgot that I even had this on! It’s such a rarity that I find a mask that fits me this well, so I will definitely be repurchasing.

13. Petitee Silk Amino Serum Mask

Like the previous mask this one also fit so insanely well that it wasn’t funny! It was like wearing a glove made out of cotton, it was perfect! It also like my skin feeling tighter and firmer. It’s insanely affordable! This is another one that I will be repurchasing.

14. Be Natural Protein Nut Bar

This came in a box, which is the only reason I’m including it! Plus I thought I would do something different. I’ve got a love hate relationship with healthy foods! But most times I try to be healthy and bars like this are my saviors! Especially when I have sweet craving days. It was surprisingly taste for a bar that has the word natural in it. If I found this in the shop I would be this up again.

Product Trashcan | June Empties

There we have it! That’s my empties for the month. I know it’s a bit late. It’s been one of those weeks! I have great intentions and then the rain kicked in! Let’s just saw that my photos did not work.

Anyway, until next time!

Oh my gosh the Know Knott spray is literally life! I haven’t replaced it yet and I’m feeling the difference without it! The Marula oil is amazing! It’s the first Oil I’ve ever tried and it still remains a firm favourite!
