Empties in the trash | July Edition
Empties time again! Does anyone else feel like the months are just steam rolling into one big blur? I swear it was only yesterday that it was the start of 2017. How on earth is it suddenly the beginning of August!
This month I still haven’t gone through half the products that I planned on using. Which is not okay, especially when I have a pile of products my mum brought me back from America to open. Throughout the month I plan to try and use more of my partly empty products.
For those who have been reading these posts for a while now, you’ll know that this won’t happen. Every month I make the exact same statement and every month I come back and say the same thing. Yes, I’m terrible I know. However this month I plan to have a pile of “empties” that I’m only going to use this month to finish.
Okay! Enough about me. Let’s get onto some empties! This month I’ve actually got a really interesting one to talk about. I started using a product and eventually gave it to my mum, because I didn’t like it, and she absolutely loved it! Go figure. But more about that later!
An * highlights any empties that belong to mum 😉
I did a review on some of the products in this range, and when I first started to use this I loved it! But after a while I realised that it was causing blisters to form on my tongue. I’m not quite sure what was the cause, whether it was dying out my mouth or not. All I know is that once I stopped using it, my mouth healed after 2 weeks.
In the same review I mentioned before, I also tried this product. At the time I didn’t really notice any difference and I didn’t find the tray very comfortable. So this is one I won’t be repurchasing .
This is another product that I didn’t really like. Mum tried it as well and she had the same experiences as me. So unfortunately this is another non repurchase for me.
This was one of mums empties and she absolutely loved it! Inside the paste was little bits of ‘grit’ she called them. Which did wonders for providing a really good clean feeling. It was able to get all the dirt in all of the teeth’s natural grooves. These were samples she got from her dentist and thankfully she’s got another couple little tubes in the cupboard.
This is actually one Alpha product that I didn’t like. I could tell from the moment I opened it and put it on my skin that it just wasn’t for me. It smelt like sunscreen and to me it went on like sunscreen and did nothing. I very eagerly passed it on to my mother expecting her to feel the same. Oh how wrong was I! She’s actually really upset when it was all gone, so now I have to repurchase it for her. She has dry/combination skin and said it was just amazing! It made her skin feel so smooth and glowing.
This is the final product I had in a little travel set I had by the Divine Company. Coincidently it also happens to be my absolute favourite one out of the set! I was quite surprised that for such a small little tube it managed to hold so many uses. Overall I found this gel to be incredibly effective, it made my clean feel clean, smooth and fresher! This is one I’ll definitely be repurchasing when I use up some more of my cleansers.
Mum is a huge lover of Natio! She’s quite literally been using it for as long as I can remember. This product is yet another love of hers, it left her feet and hands feeling so soft! The one thing she said was that it felt really messy to use, because it was super liquidity! In saying that….she’s already repurchased it!
Oh my gosh this is amazing! I love this soak! So does my daughter, she’s been loving having this in her bath. She has sensitive skin and doesn’t always get to have “fun” stuff in the bath. The milky nature of this soak along with the rose petals definitely made bath time more interesting for her. I was quite surprised at how many uses I got out of the little tube as well! I think I managed to use it 4 times? Which is really great value and something I’ll definitely be repurchasing in the future.
I did a post on Instagram about these wonderful items! So I’ll keep this short and sweet. These are amazing! Like so amazing! They made my eyes feel so refreshed, firmer and with less dark circles! Plus, they are incredibly cost effective at only $2 a packet! These are something I will definitely be repurchasing.
APSU Onsen Travel Candle (Funaya)
This is something I was so excited for! We are huge candle lovers in this house and there is always a candle burning. To cut this short and sweet, I loved the smell of this one…before it was lit. That is where it stopped for me. The first night it burnt, there was a lovely smell but the candle didn’t melt very well.
By the second time I used it, it became clear that there were some design flaws. The candle tin was obviously too wide for the amount of wax, so it didn’t burn past a certain point. And after 4 hours of burning time, the wick was gone. Which was very disappointing overall.
I was prolonging finishing off the end of this product because it’s one I absolutely love! This is one of those anti-frizz products that works a charm! Say goodbye to frizzy hair! Can you believe that? Well I have wavy, flyaway hair and trust me it really does do just that! It also smells like Christmas, with this herbal spice scent to it. This is one product that I absolutely loved the results of! So I’ll be definitely repurchasing this at some stage!
I won’t go into too much detail with this product, because I’ve spoken about it so many times. This is one of those things that I literally have a stock pile of in my cupboard! Yes, this means that I’ve already opened another and got it on the go. Everyone month this brand seems to make it into my empties list!
This was one of mums! Incase you can’t tell we have a slight obsession with this brand. We’ve both been incorporating this brand into our routine for a while now, but for different reasons. Unlike me, my mum has insanely long hair that she has no problem growing! Her hair is very curly though so she loves this curl shampoo. It smells so yummy and leaves her hair feeling so soft! This is another firm repurchase.
So our local Priceline does this thing where it has this constant clearance/sale shelf! Which is amazing and terrible at the same time, because it means we both spend too much time in there. This was one of those products that came out of such a glorious shelf. Mum picked up a couple of them because they were on clearance, who can say no to a sale! She has fallen completely in love with this product! It leaves her hair feeling soft and silky and just feeling amazing. Thankfully this one wasn’t on clearance, so she is definitely going to repurchase!
Woohoo! And that’s a wrap for empties this month. How are you feeling with the joint empties? Should I keep it going?
Until next time!
